Pentecost and The Number Seven - 7 weeks since Easter - the number seven in nature - 7 continents, 7 seas, 7 colors, 7 notes in music, 7 hills of Rome, 7 stellar bodies, 7 signs, 7 sacraments - Divine Wisdom enlightens our hearts, presence of Christ and his gifts amplify our virtues - Wisdom, understanding, counsel, knowledge, fortitude, piety (reverance for God and our ancestors), and awe - Holy fear. The Cult of Narcissism, poor substitute for Divine Glory, loss of dignity when religion is replaced with therapy, dimming Jesus. Memorial Day - commemorating the selfless brave soldiers who laid down their lives for us over the ages. Ezekial - The Valley of Dry Bones - We are that exceeding great army. Rejoice today in the gift of the Holy Spirit which saves us from the servitude of egoism and raises us up in the holy Catholic and apostolic Church. Without the Holy Spirit we are just dry bones. Come, oh Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
